What are Hybrid Vehicles?
Hybrid vehicles use two types of engines that work together, one is a standard gas powered engine, and the other is an electric motor that is assisted by a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery pack, which can be recharged. This environmentally friendly combination of gas and electric hybrid technology offers you better gas mileage, and lower engine exhaust emissions. Sometimes Hybrid Vehicles are confused with electric vehicles, however, Hybrid's are primarily gas powered cars assisted with electrical motors. Some Hybrid's may qualify as "Clean Fuel Property" by the IRS, which can lead to deductions in Tax. Some hybrid SUVs like the Lexus RX400h are even SULEV rated (Super-Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle), appealing to the environmentally conscious new car buyer. Many vehicles are coming into the market in the form of hybrid's. Some examples of hybrid's include the Lexus RX 400h, the Lexus GS 450h Hybrid, the Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Honda Insight Hybrid, also the Toyota Prius, Toyota Camry hybrid, Toyota Highlander, and Ford Escape Hybrid.
